Some of you may have noticed over the past few months a specific date on my profile (July 14th, 2025). This post will essentially explain all of that, but as a TL;DR for those who don’t care enough to read everything, this is the day that I finally received my Devotee badge, and is also my last day on the forums, as I will be departing from here shortly after this post is created.
Hi all, I just wanted to start by saying thank you to every one of you who has been here during my journey in the last year since I got active. Ever since the beginning of June 2024, I’ve been pretty regularly active here, and I’ve gotten to know many of you very well, so I just wanted to share my appreciation for you all before I make my departure.
Ever since I started visiting here regularly on July 14th, 2024, I knew this place would be a great distraction for me, and indeed it was. Many of you have certainly changed my perspective on things, and I know I’ve impacted others in their day-to-day routine as well. I am happy to say that I’ve enjoyed my time here, as well as everybody else’s, despite the many hardships that have occurred, and I’m glad I could spend so much time with such an awesome group of individuals.
I know we’ve all had our moments here, and we’ve all had bad things come up, but when taking a wider scope of everything which has gone on in the last 365 days, I truly find it beautiful how we’ve all managed to get along so well despite our differences and unique needs. I mean, it truly is incredible how, through thick and thin, we’ve all come back as our best selves and been able to move on so efficiently.
I’ve enjoyed all the time I’ve spent with you all, the moments we’ve shared, as well as all the misfortunes which we’ve overcome. I believe it’s built us all as people and turned us into a better version of ourselves than we’d ever been before.
Regardless of that, I mainly just wanted to say thank you for 365 days. It’s been a wild time spent with all of you kind folks, but I believe it is now my time to leave this place. This decision was made many, many months ago, and does not have any relation to any conflict or situation that has occurred. I just felt that it was best to spend one solid year here, make some memories I would be able to take with me for the rest of my life, and bring home some new friendships that I can cherish for as long as they last.
I want to give a special thanks to the moderators here for keeping our community civil and consistently making changes for the better to prolong the experience for the longest time possible. Additionally, I want to specifically thank @Alanzcool for being one of the chillest people here who has consistently kept good contact and managed to turn almost any difficult situation into the best possible outcome. I thank you dearly for your kindness and am glad to call you my friend.
I do not plan to make a return to these forums ever, but do understand that this is not from a place of negativity or fear. Don’t expect me to remain active any longer either, as I do not plan to log on much, if at all. I may pop in from time to time and see what’s changed, but I certainly won’t be a routine member anymore, nor will I write this whole message and then continue to be just as active as I was before (looking at you Frank, no offense intended so please don’t take any), as that defeats the whole point of making an exit.
