History:
The T-84, also known as the BM Oplot, is a Ukrainian main battle tank first produced by the KMDB plant in 1995. The T-84 has served as Ukraine’s main battle tank since its introduction in 1995, with several variants developed both for domestic use and export. In 2011, the Royal Thai Army placed orders for 49 T-84s as a replacement for the ageing M60A3 and M41 tanks. The Thai export version, later known as the BM Oplot-T, features slight modifications from the T-84 to meet local requirements, such as a local radio and air conditioning. Delivery of the Oplot-T was completed in March 2018, and they now serve alongside the VT-4 as the current main battle tanks of the RTA.
