Before you call me a big dumb bozo for even asking, lemme explain my stupidity.
(This post is obviously in light of the new Egg Hunt update, with the addition of the Seashell Egg. This post also assumes that the Seashell Egg has the same spawn algorithms/mechanics as The Seashell)
As a person who played the game since its paid beta, I’ve found The Seashell.. 3 times? None of which are after the first map expansion that added Ridge Rock. Since then, I have not found The Seashell once (or the Treasure Chest either, but that’s a different matter). So, with a vehicle that’s locked behind getting all eggs, getting the Seashell Egg seems needed, and I can’t find it.
Now obviously, there’s no set spawn, but I feel like maybe there’s trends/analytics that will help me save time during my server hopping/driving around the sands like an idiot sprees I go on. Here’s some questions I hope to answer, with your help!
Who:
Can the egg/shell be seen by multiple people? Does it appear in the same place for everyone? Can multiple people pick it up/destroy it?
When:
If multiple people can see it, but only one person can destroy/pick it up, does it respawn? How long does it take to respawn/is there a trigger to make it respawn (like exploding core)?
Where:
Can it spawn on outer islands (Ridge Rock, Volcano, Desert, Runway)? Can it spawn at lakes? Can it spawn at a position where it’s submerged by water? Can it spawn in other areas (those allegedly being: Mountain, Dirt Track, Roof of Facility, outside of Row 2)?
What:
Is it easy to see? Should a normal player driving on a beach be able to see the shell/egg?
Is it guaranteed to spawn in every server? Can it change positions (from exploding core, player stealing it, respawning/dying)?
How:
Is there a “meta” strategy? (the ultimate answer)
Why:
why am i doing this.
