Now, the Swiss manufacturer Weber Sportcars goes further, seeing that the Veyron Super Sport already reaches 431 km / h. Of course, they have left us wanting, since the new Faster One only tells us that its maximum speed is ‘higher than 400 km / h’ , so we still do not know if its goal of being the fastest will arrive or not to good port. Other dream cars, like the 1,350hp Shelby SSC Tuatara , will also try to beat the almighty Veyron Super Sport .
If we look at power, the Weber Faster One already has an important asset to beat the Veyron Super Sport - this one with 1,200 hp. In the Swiss car, its renewed V10 5.6 engine , with twin turbo , intercooler and electronically controlled injection, delivers 1,200 hp of power to all four wheels (900 hp in the first Weber F1) and 127 mkg of torque at 4,200 rpm. Associated with a six-speed semiautomatic-sequential transmission , its performance, how could it be otherwise, are impressive: acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h in 2.5 seconds , from 0 to 200 km / h in 6.6 seconds and from 0 to 300 km / h in 16.2 seconds.
The Weber Faster One is a two-seater supercar with a central engine position , ‘encased’ in a strong and light carbon fiber monocoque that weighs only 65 kg, of the 1,250 kg of the total of the set. In addition, the passenger compartment has a safety cell reinforced with chrome moly tubes. Lightweight and high strength come together in a bodywork designed and tested in a wind tunnel .
Aesthetically , the Weber Faster One falls short of the beauty of the Bugatti Veyron, but it is not the most important thing in the Swiss supercar. The cooling inlets for the engine and radiators are located in air intakes in the roof and at the rear . The door handles have even been dispensed with so they don’t disturb the air travel through the side.
With all this, and seeing the final result, it is not a secret that Weber Sportcars has paid special attention to the aerodynamics of its supercar. With an ‘extremely low’ center of gravity , everything is designed to generate maximum downforce to roll close to the asphalt. The wedge-shaped front of the car and the huge spoiler that presides over the rear are largely to blame for this. In the case of the latter, it can produce a force of more than 4,000 newtons , with the aim of generating additional force during braking.
Four-wheel drive system, independent suspensions, 380 mm ventilated ceramic brake discs, sports seats, carbon fiber details and a steering wheel in the purest Formula 1 style are other elements that make the new Weber Faster One a a real gem of supercars. Its price? It is still a mystery, but since the previous version was around a million euros, it is easy to guess how cheap, at least, it will not be.
