What is it?
The Oil Slick, also known as The Sabotage, is a very unconventional 1/2 mile drag race. It looks like any ordinary drag race, but as the name implies, someone sabotages the player’s car, causing there to be a huge oil slick at the start line. (I hope you get the reference)
How does it work?
Basically, you have your own car and any other car that’s less powerful than it. Once the crusher is activated, your car, which you will have to manually control, is teleported to a 1/2 mile (800m) strip. The other car is controlled by AI and has a simple body, which means that collision physics are off. Before the race starts, you will see a huge brown puddle below the car, which is the oil slick. There is a 3-second countdown timer before the race starts, like any other race. 5 seconds into the race, you will hear the engine start to break, causing acceleration to be disabled. 7 seconds later, the entire car explodes due to severe damage to the components. The other racer goes on to reach the end of the strip, where it stops upon hitting the wall. The car resets and changes to another one based on the new/existing car that you (re)spawn.
Additional notes
- If you try the drag race with a Golf Cart, you will basically race yourself, as this is the slowest car in the game.
- If you race with a BMW M3 GTR, you have a 5% chance to race a black Mustang of any type.
- This race is similar to The Engine Dyno, but even more intense.
This special course has been engineered precisely by Top Fuel Corp. Any resemblance with content from “Need for Speed: Most Wanted” (2005), including, but not limited to any of the following: the prologue, train tracks, Highway 201, Highway 201 Offramp, Rockport, Camden Borough, Downtown Borough, Clarence “Razor” Callahan’s black Mustang with flames, Hero’s blue BMW M3 GTR, the number 15 guy on the Blacklist, Mia’s call, Ronnie asking how the car’s running, Bull laughing, the cops losing the suspects and needing a 10-83, or the BMW being towed is purely coincidental.
I hope this is considered as a new crusher or an update to the existing Engine Dyno crusher. I have provided lots of detailed information about this crusher that could make it a useful crusher for a future update.
