It was presented for the first time at the Geneva Motor Show in 2008. It presents much smoother lines without neglecting the retro look based on aviation, and incorporates various novelties such as a glass roof divided in two, which would later used in other prototypes of the brand such as the C12 Zagato or the D8 and D12 Peking-to-Paris. This car did not participate in competition as the first generation did.
