Wingspread 4X3D Car Crushers
Name: Wingspread 4X3D
Concept:
My idea is a special car with foldable wing like attachments on the sides. The car can drive normally, but using its custom Q ability it can extend or retract these wings to allow the car to glide. This is gliding only, not flying. The gliding lasts until a wing breaks or the ability is disabled. It does not carry momentum forever and slowly runs out, similar to how other games handle gliding, so it stays balanced.
A good use case would be activating a thruster, driving up a ramp, extending the wings, and gliding for a short time. The car behaves more like a plane while gliding, meaning you can dive down to gain speed and then pull up to regain height.
Design:
The car itself would look like a simple gray vehicle. The wings would retract into the body similar to a telescopic baton. When extended, the wings would be flat plane style wings. When customizing the car, the wings would be visible and extended and you can customise the wings. After retracting the wings back into the body pf the car, there would be a fifteen second cooldown before they can be used again.
Stats and Balance:
The car would have a top speed of at least 175mph. It would have a lower weight to allow better gliding, but this would come at the cost of reduced durability. The car would not have a plow. It would not be usable in certain derby modes such as bomb tag.
Air control thrusters would be automatically enabled to help control the car while gliding. If needed, this could also be replaced with a custom flight or glide control system instead.
Extra Notes:
you can try to change the wings looks if you like. I am not sure what class this car would belong to. This is my first suggestion and I am still learning how to format ideas like this. If anything is missing or incorrect, feel free to reach out, although i have no idea how to contact people from here unless it links discord or smth also reach out if you would like me to work on a model for the car and i can also attempt animation for the wings retracting, cant help with sound though.
