Since I mainly frequent the Vehicle suggestion section of the forum, I have come across multiple suggestions which can be described as “low effort”. Some are made up of only 1 or 2 sentences in total, others only have one image of the car aside from the title and overall they’re not “good representations” for the cars. I’m not too familiar with how much well-structured suggestions raise a car’s chances of being added, but I’d like to believe that including proper info can make a car be considered by the model makers/people that choose what cars are added, relatively more than others.
One recent example that prompted me to start this discussion was that of the “Glickenhaus SCG 004S”, a topic which consists only of a google image link of the car in another game. The car itself looks great and I’d gladly make a suggestion including proper info on it, but am unable to due to the “one topic per model” policy (which is totally reasonable).
I’d like to know yalls ideas on these kinds of cases. I myself was willing to remake someone’s suggestion and asked them permission to do so, but didn’t due to uncertainty (they agreed tho I thought best leave it as an idea). Have any suggestions on how vehicle topics should be tweaked? Or maybe just wanna share a thought? I’d love to discuss abt this :D

I very much agree with this there are way too many garbage suggestions

I’ve noticed this, like I really want some cars to be added but they probably never will because the first person to think about this didn’t actually put any thought into their suggestion.

Imo there should definitely be some like, “conditions” or specifics someone has to have in their suggestion before its deemed valid. Stuff like "at least 3 angles of the car, at least 1 or 2 pictures of the interior, blueprint if possible (optional), etc.

The problem is, no matter how much effort you put into a suggestion its likely hood of getting it in the game is by likes

And theres nothing saying that you had to put effort into a suggestion, it literally says a picture of the vehicle and specs arent even required

but in a way, if u just post one image of a car and nothing else, how high are its chances of getting a lot of likes compared to other cars? cause at this point, most “normal/generic” cars have already been suggested, which makes only rarer models left. And ppl arent always interested in doing google seances to learn if the car someone posited one image of, is worth their like or not

Honestly, being serious here, this is a really valid point
Yes, it is frustrating to see a really cool car not getting represented properly, but unfortunately we (we as in moderators) just need to merge to the original post regardless of their quality
But looking from a normal user’s viewpoint, yeah, it’s annoying that a car you really want to see in game getting represented by a shitty post, but you really can’t do anything about it until it gets merged with a decent suggestion post
Now I would honestly merge the lower effort post into the higher effort post, except I really can’t do that unless the original post had no pictures
Perhaps I could speak to some higher ups about it, don’t know if the merging policy might change in the future

Very true, at first I thought “opposite merging”, as in, merging an older post to a newer one, wasnt possible, but since it is a thing, the whole deal being dealt with is promising.

So you guys are allowed to reverse-merge if the original has no images? that’s nice to know ngl

I usually just reply to the original topic with more information

Generally yes, but I think it’s easy to forget that a good suggestions will automatically be able to get more likes.
And I’m not even talking about huge essays like that one bmw one, but generally just more than one picture

a lot of the earlier suggestions on the forums have like 1 or 2 pictures and get20 likes

It makes sense but key word earlier, cause those are cars that most people recognize/are familiar with, without needing too many pics. If you have two suggestions, one of a Mk2 supra and one of a Ferrari 365 gt 2+2, each with minimal effort put into it, a simple user who doesn’t care enough to google would recognize the supra a bit more than the 365, leading to a higher like/effort ratio for it.

had a question abt this
If the OG post has no image, but an image was attached by someone else in the comments, would the suggestion stay up, or be eligible for a merge?

honestly, I actually don’t know
if I were to take a guess, it would probably be the same reason as before, there’s no pictures, and the pictures would need to be in the original post, not a reply, as we don’t merge replies
