Real message deleting system

When you write something or create a post, if you decide to delete it, it will say “(post deleted by author)”, and you will still be able to see the original message by clicking on the orange pencil.

So I propose that when you delete a message, the message will be no longer displayed at all and will disappear from the forum (from the POV of other users but maybe not from the POV of mods) instantly, without having to wait 24 hours for this to happen.

I agree
Maybe not fully disappear but atleast remove the ability to see the message after it was deleted so the feature can serve its purpose

There is a reason I think could be on why this exist, to know what you said before deleting and make the job easier for mods

posts are kept for 24 hours intentionally to allow for moderation, undeletion, and better understanding of recent conversation

as the others have said, after 24 hours, it is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered
