Presaved Server Configurator Configurations
Which would allow to quickly change your server between saved configurations
How would it work?
New button on the server conrigurator.
There would be a new button (apart from "World", "Activities", "Custom settings", "Teams", etc.): "Presaved configurations".
Here, there would be an option to:
- "Save Current Configuration". This saves the current configuration from the configurator to a new slot.
- This leads to having to define "slot" in this case. It is the saved settings from a server configuration
- "Load a slot". This is self-explanatory. You load a slot (configuration) into the current server settings. This irreversibly removes the current configuration, unless you have saved it itself as a configuration.
- "Edit a slot". Also self-explanatory. Without deleting the current configuration, edit the name/settings of the selected slot.
- "Delete a slot". You should be able to guess what this does. It deletes a slot:)
- "Activate a slot". This activates the server whose button you clicked for public custom servers. This will become clearer in a minute.
Cross-sync with Server Browser
- This means all your configured servers from the server browser would automatically be added as preconfigured servers, and vice-versa. If you edit a slot, it automatically syncs with the other panel (server browser syncs with configurator and vice-versa).
Why add this feature?
Multi-Purpose servers (specifically Private servers not published in the Server Browser)
- Some people might want to have a server with various modes. Here, an example:
- Some might want to mission grind in their private server, and have the perfect configuration for it (e.g. no core, no competitions, minimum gravity, etc.), but then they decide they want to practice energy core explosions. This feature would help them by not making them deconfigure the server, and reconfigure it for gravity and core, and then change it back again once they consider they want to continue grinds.
- Another use of this is to test a potential server in private, and then publish it
