I feel like the waves of the water will pull down any vehicle if it reaches the bumper, especially supercars and their front splitters.

There is waves, and though they are not big, they will still act as basically speed bumps, and landing after one of them will probably make you sink in the water because of the initial landing (though maybe to super high) and the next wave.
But I still like your suggestion, as driving on water would be interesting.
