History:
The M3 Gun Motor Carriage (M3 GMC) was a US Army tank destroyer developed during World War II. It was a response to the need for a self-propelled anti-tank weapon after observing the effectiveness of German armored vehicles in the Battle of France. It became the first mass-produced American tank destroyer. Between 1941 and 1943, 2.202 M3 GMC were ever built.
