I dont get it…that much power and its that slow?

my truck is probably 1500+ pounds heavier and its faster than that with less HP and torque
could it just be engine design difference?
The only thing I don’t like about this car is the license plate offset…
Its an omage to the original (the only good ones) where there was a offset spare tire
