Disclaimer, i am not here to start any arguments or offend anyone, just a feedback for everyone to see. Now let’s jump to the main point
The problem
Have you guys genuinely seen the forums getting raided with nonsense or some users under the age of 13 somehow slipped in?
Although the issue has been fixed, it doesn’t remove the possibility of future occurrences
Solution
If a person literally spams too much NONSENSE, it can be added as a reason to a short or long term silence / suspension, depends on the severity
The only exclusion is if the user’s context of “spam” is valid to the topic (like replying to the above post with multiple posts)
Ive seen some discord servers with channels that leads to a ban, so why not a pinned topic that auto bans spammers and bots ? it 99% wont work on spammers, but effectively against bots, which i havent mentioned earlier
aside from the jobs of mods, you guys have the authority to ignore the trollers, since engagement is fuel for them, then tell the mods if its too severe
the barrier for entry is somehow too low and too high at the same time. you get the <13 spam as mentioned but there are also a lot of valuable players that just aren’t aware of this place or care enough to make an account. the forum is flooded with bug reports 90% of which are duplicates or otherwise invalid, and people are looking to snipe almost any suggestion idea even if it’s not particularly interesting or will make it into the game.
the forums are kind of this hidden pocket with little quality control or actual incentive to come together and discuss the game. forum mods are doing their job just fine so i believe it’s not as simple as that.
Maybe a feature could get implemented, like codes and advantages for being in the forum. If written in the game description, (e.g. + Get more codes from the Car Crushers Forums, at ccdiscussion.com) it would incentivise more people to join and come by and discover the place. Then there’s an issue to fix though: people could get the code without logging in, if someone shares them the link or they happen to find it somehow. OK then, add a log-in restricted page; but then we have the problem of underage people joining which isn’t good.
