Island Circuit difficult/impossible to beat

I don’t know if this would be considered a bug or not but I didn’t know where to place an issue like this since it is so confusing whether this is intentional for the game or not, if it is intentional then I have posted this in the wrong place but if it is not intentional then it would technically be considered a bug.

The reason for this seemingly random “bug” is that the Island Circuit mission in 36 seconds of Mastery 1 is either very difficult or impossible to do because of how the mission works. The mission instead of determining a particular lap that you do well on instead determines the entire race and if you do five laps for example then it ends up counting the time taken from all five laps to do the race as the most recent time instead of counting the best lap of the race. This is a bit of a problem as with multiple laps you can intentionally destroy parts of your vehicle so you can steer better and go faster, but unlike getting a world record from any of the leaderboards you have to do the time trials/race in one singular lap in order to have a chance to beat 36 seconds.

With the way this mission is currently set up though, you have to beat 36 seconds in just one lap so that means you do not have time to destroy parts of your car or use the momentum from the previous lap to your advantage, instead you have to start the race by building up speed which will naturally cost you time. I tried doing two laps to counter this harsh limited time I have but it always ends up counting the entire race’s time instead of the second lap’s time. You have to be absolutely perfect at driving and not slowing down or crashing at all which will prove its self very difficult as no car that is fast enough has good enough handling to turn fast enough at such high speeds and therefore you either miss the checkpoint or crash into something which is an automatic loss. You have to slow down before each turn which would also take time away from you being able to complete it, even with my best attempts I only managed to get to 37 seconds after trying the race twenty times.

This is probably a “me” problem though, maybe people would tell me “just get better at driving” but this is supposed to be the first mastery and also it is absurd how perfect you have to be at driving to complete this mission as I had easier times getting world records than completing this. Again, I don’t entirely know this is a bug or not and I don’t know if it only happens to me or if it happens to other people but remove this post if this is intentional or keep it here if it is unintentional and therefore a bug.

I agree, the same goes for the mountain circuit, I’ve tried multiple vehicles including the Lamborghini Vision GT, the dirt race is possible though

i did all 3, but they are extremely hard because they only count the whole race as your time

You can set the lap to one, if you have a good enough car you should be able to barely complete the time without the second lap.
But otherwise, not everyone has a good car (especially since it’s the first mastery and would still a problem) so this report is still good.

Also, it’s not necessary, but it would nice to keep the reports short, this is a lot to say for “the mission counts the total race time and not the lap time”.

I was never good at keeping stuff short, so I will tell the basics of my report again for those not wanting to read those paragraphs:

Island Circuit difficult/impossible to beat because of it counting the whole race time instead of one lap’s time

most all vehicles (even the fast ones) cannot possibly complete a lap in 36 seconds or less

you have no momentum or ability to destroy your car with just one lap

this may or may not be a bug depending on if this is intentional or not

handling is often not good enough to turn fast enough to keep your high speeds so you end up crashing or missing a checkpoint

this is a mission for the first mastery which is a bit harsh

2+ laps equals you cannot complete this mission at all

there, I put it much simpler this time around

This was meant to grab the best lap’s time instead of the whole race, it’s been fixed in one of the recent patches. I ranked you up in the group.
