Like every 5 posts I reply to I get the message “You’ve already posted another draft in this topic” etc. Is there a reason for this? Is it an issue with my browser or is it the fault of the forum?
Also no drafts are actually saved AFAIK.

Yeah I’m extremely late on this, but drafts are saved by default so if you refresh or otherwise click away they are saved automatically unless you abandon it.
