He is a fictional car not based in reality but he seems more like a corvette as he has a LS V8 from GM

I think they cut mixed between 3 cars front is C6 Corvette mid of body more like from the 2006 Chevy Impala sides exhaust pipe and the rear from dodge viper

but yeah hes a design riff on a nascar car, the animators though a normal nascar design looked too boring

You guys are looking at this the wrong way. There were three cars (i think) competing in the 2006 (same year the movie came out) nascar. I looked at photos of all three, and I think he looks like the chevrolet monte carlo the most. Even though the taillights are vertical instead of horizontal.
