I just don’t think they are all… that they just make me think.. wow people love this car too much like AE86 is really just for drifting and supra mk4 is the only one I can’t argue abt or people will find me
The AE86 as a stock car isn’t a particularly good drift car. They came with an open diff from the factory, which never goes well with any kind of drifting (even a limited slip diff would be loads better than open diff, all the power just goes to the wheel with less damn traction and makes it hard to slide out), let alone in an early 80s economy hatch (the design dates to 1981) and 128bhp on hand, and the mk4 supra is loved pretty much purely because of the NFS franchise, it was considered a commercial failure throughout its production years.
Some are overhyped due to media (like Initial D for the AE86, though they were popular drifters in the 90s because they were dirt cheap at the time and easy to tune and the supra you mentioned, NSX, etc). I see your point but a lot of JDM cars live up to their rep. You’ll always have chronic glazers for everything, JDM fans just seem to shine brighter than others.
