This has been something I been thinking about so I just want some points of views from others
well considering it’s the only game he works on and it brings in revenue
i guess he cares a lot considering he mentioned he could fix derby desync after a new roblox update + has tried fixing handling twice + have you seen the details on the models these days
honestly he could do better in terms of listening to the community (i.e. rejecting cars for a year, adding random cars people don’t really want) but other than that he is doing a great job
but i won’t nag about that because he probably is busy with his studies in college
How exactly would you say he cares about the game
Does he care about it because it’s his project or
Does he care about it to make money?
probably the first option
cc2 isn’t exactly owned by some big enterprise (looking at you driving empire) so there’s no incentive to make money (not sure how else to say it but you get the point)
I feel like it’s kinda of in the middle because
He does have like multiple rows of gampasses and limiteds and expiration dates on boosters and caps on credits, MP, and Platina
But as you said he is also aiming for an improved user experience like trying to fix derby desync and improve handling realism and more
fair
the cap on platina and stuff is kind of to prevent like
autofarmers from racking up insane amounts of platina when earning money and exploiters grinding away thousands of credits
the mp part is probably for the same reason too so people can’t just stock up on mission points and buy the next limited instantly
You have a fairly right point here, Pan does a rather nice job on developping CC2 by himself, altho the ‘‘Listening to its community’’ point leaves something to be desired (Rejecting loved vehicles by the community, more normal cars & some remodels of currently crappy-looking vehicles). Also, he could’ve brought back several additional old limiteds for a limited time aswell. So, to conclude, he does a decent job developping CC2, but he should listen to the players more oftenly tbh. However, it could’ve been much worse if the game was owned by a company (ex: DoBig Studios)
Cc2 is probably one of his biggest projects so I think he really really cares about it
Yall are saying that he doesn’t listen to the community enough but remember that he’s the only dev who checks the forum (even though it’s only for bugs)
Ngl I like the game’s gamepasses
They’re not too pay to win and they’re pretty much useful
except extra colors ima be honest but because its pretty cheap so uhh idrc
Don’t you forget the ‘‘Unlock All Crushers’’ gamepass, which was exttremely expansive at 1200 Robux, basically, it unlocked every crushers from row 2,3 & 4. It was put offsale when the 2nd floor was added, likely bc it was hated & considered useless by most players
In my opinion, he’s genuinely interested in the project and wants to realize his ideal. He recently posted a vote on Discord, and it’s clear he’s interested. And in a private conversation with him, I realized he’s interested in finding good ideas for the project. That post also included my ideas and suggestions, so he’s listening to the community, too.
Pan is obviously very passionate about making the game good, but he’s also got to find some ways to make money from it, otherwise it doesn’t really pay the development costs off
By the way, regarding the second one, I talked to him about the trading system, and he said, “No. It just depends on what they’re used for and how it’s implemented.” So, he’s clearly against squeezing money out of you.
