Happy Toyz Truck

This is a 1976 White Western Star 4800 from Stephen King’s only directed movie,Maximum Overdrive (1986). It’s engine was a Detroit 8V-71 (9.3L) and its transmission was a 10-speed. It’s horsepower and torque numbers are currently unknown as the truck was scrapped after filming and its not determined yet if it’s a 4800 or a 4900 as we don’t get to see the hood length. The only time we get a decent look is when Billy Robinson (played by Emilio Estevez) uses a grenade to blow up the 1966 Willys M274 Mechanical Mule ½-ton Platform Truck armed with an M60. It’s only seen in the background in this scene and its pretty hard to tell. I don’t know how they would name this truck as it goes by it’s truck name,Green Goblin truck or Happy Toyz Truck (the fictional company on it’s trailer).

Here’s the 1966 Willys M274 Mechanical Mule ½-ton Platform Truck I was mentioning earlier. This was also the best shot of the 1980 GMC Astro, which was barely used. The 1972 Brockway 457TL was a background truck for most of the movie but it had a tiny role at one point.
