Since launch all matierials that apply a money boost would only apply that booster to the body and rim colors. This can frequently be inconvenient for players who want the boost but dont want to use it on those specific parts.

If the material was applied to the rims it counts, but it doesn’t if it was applied to the rocket booster or other add-ons for some reason

fun fact the reflectance on the mk4 supra rims is 50 percent
so i just put platinum on the rims to make it look good enough to look stock while getting the money boost

Some vehicles like tanks without rims the only way to get plat is to put it on the tank itself which isn’t an issue for me but I would like to have non shiny colors sometimes with the value increase
