Different method for delivering printer parts to the car in Barn Find

Keeping this a simple suggestion:

The current way for getting the printed part to the car, picking it up and wrangling it over, is just too unstable and infuriating because the physics are always working against you.

I suggest changing the delivery method to where physics aren’t required, such as a Dolly Tool to be added to the side of the Barn.

This is how I’d like the new method for installing parts to be:

  1. Player equips Dolly tool from the side of the Barn
  2. Player presses E to pick up the part/box of parts with the Dolly out
  3. Player wheels over the Dolly with the part to the car to install it in the green spot
  4. (Optional) Player installs the new part with a Wrench or Screwdriver tool

I believe this would make the Restoration process a lot more fun and engaging for players, as the buggy part physics really hold the Barn Find event back from being a great event addition to the game itself. Other than that, I do like events like this where you work to unlock a new car rather than it just being given or having to be bought with platina.

honestly I’m willing to take this extra step if it means I don’t send my steering wheel to Narnia again in the future

very well put together suggestion

First mention I’ve heard of it in a long time!

yes please so i don’t fling my windshield to brazil

Please don’t make me have to spasmically wiggle my camera whilst/aswell as jumping up and down frantically

How this new system will work is that the part will attach itself to the Dolly when you press E near it, so you can simply just wheel the Dolly over to the car.

No physics involved, just carrying a static Tool with a prop from point A to B with movement keys.

And the part automatically places itself when you line up the Dolly part to its green outline (though I wish there was an extra step where you have to screw in/install the part to the car after its placed, for realism).

or even worse, it gets stuck in the barn wall and you end up having to rejoin, most annoying thing to deal with!
