Car special weapons!

Since Death Race mode is planned and lower tier cars (and non-tanks in general) need to be made more interesting…

GENERAL INFO
Usable both in DR and Derby (unless stated otherwise), they’re unique to a car, and most of them are available at the start of a match, but after use need recharging, which can be done by just waiting or picking up a special powerup.

  1. the nuke

Car: Nuke Truck
Average use amount: 1 per match if you’re lucky, not available at the beginning, not usable in DR because who’ll bring that to a DR anyway

NUCLEAR LAUNCH DETECTED.
Launches a missile from the back of the truck (or maybe sets a target for a missile). The launch is announced with a message (that might or might not be a StarCraft reference) heard by everyone playing. If the missile finally explodes, the blast covers the entire map, but the thing has to get there, so you should try to stay alive for a certain time (1 minute with last 15s being a “point of no return”, so when a tank KOs you at 13s it won’t save them :troll:), otherwise it won’t work.

  1. fire trail

Car: Revenni XT3
Average use amount: 2-3 per match, maybe more.

Works like nitro, exhaust goes xplod and you go slightly faster, also leaving a trail of burning something that sets your car on fire when driven through. If you think it’s overpowered just wait till someone hits you.

  1. call backup

Car: the 4 cop cars
Average use amount: 1-2 per match

Spawns an AI doppelganger of you targeting nearby cars (the clone would be indicated by a pink outline and have some armor buffs to compensate for the AI stupidity), shrimple as that

  1. rear freezer

Car: the ice cream truck
Average use amount: 1-2 per match

The rear doors open up revealing a freezer gun in the back (similar to the old freezer crusher one, but smaller) capable of damaging and sometimes immobilizing opponent vehicles

  1. electrified plating

Car: Audi PB18 e-tron as well as the VGT
Average use amount: 2-3 per match

Puts an electrostatic charge on the car’s body, when you hit another car not only it gets massive damage, but also gets thrown away a couple of meters

  1. air strike

Car: Jeep Desert Patrol, also the transporter thingy
Average use amount: ~1 time per match

Nuke but less powerful (way smaller blast), while also easier to use (30s waiting time). A bomber plane appears above the map and drops 2-3 bombs in random places, wiping out everyone unlucky enough to end up blasted

  1. kamikaze bomb

Car: every single Tesla
Average use amount: ~1-2 time per match

Straps a bomb to your car with a 15s timer. Take a bit of damage or have the timer end, and you go kaboom, so deliberately ramming others is what you should do.

  1. bass cannon

Car: Hummer H2 and maybe something else
Average use amount: 2-3 per match

A weaker version of the Bass Blaster that damages everyone around you in a medium radius. The music track could be different from the crusher for more variety, or maybe even make some kind of playlist :) (with royalty free music of course)

not weapons by themselves but impact the stats

  1. overload

Car: most EVs
Average use amount: 3-5 per match

when activated, greatly increases engine power and damage you deal in collisions (and other weapons when they get added) at the cost of becoming very flimsy - most cars will take you out in a single hit (and you explode). also (cosmetic) smoke is emitted from the engine compartment or vents and a loud hum gradually becoming more high-pitched as well as [BEEP] SYSTEMS OVERHEATING can be heard.
has no time limit but needs to be charged with KOs

  1. punch

Car: some of the heavier T1s, as well a fastish T2/3s that aren’t tanks
Usage amount: 3-5 per match

upon activation drastically increases collision damage, but at the cost of handling and braking responsiveness. as a visual effect could have the car body material switch to diamond plate steel (like on the plow)
like overload, lasts until you get KO’d but needs to be charged.

Car: any as long as it has ranged weapons
Usage amount: 3-5 per match

increases your weapon damage by quite a bit, lasts as much as the shield but each KO you make slightly extends the duration
refills either with weapon-done KOs or by picking up a powerup (that might or might not look like the :rage: emoji)

  1. block

Car: flimsier T1s
Usage amount: 3-5 per match

slaps an extra health bar (a blue one to differentiate between that and normal health) onto you. as long as there’s some block your regular health bar (and your car) can’t take any damage, absorbing hits. lasts until it gets depleted, can be refilled with KOs or a powerup.

all of that might or might not be available for every car, with the listed above ones simply being easier to unlock for
