I don’t know why no one noticed this yet, but the cars shouldn’t be making engine roaring noises when it’s not accelerating (engine makes the same roaring sound regardless of whether gas pedal is applied or not). I think this is because the noise made is based on the gearbox speed and not gas pedal position.
Suggestion:
During cruise without acceleration: Engine idling noise with cruising noise only (tires, road etc)
During cruise with acceleration: Engine roaring noise with cruise noise
What I meant was the the engines shouldn’t be ‘roaring’ when the car is moving without the gas pedal applied (or w key not being held).
Example: I hold the W key and the car accelerates to 200 (the engine ‘roars’ louder as the speed increases). However, the engine still makes the same ‘roaring’ sound as you lift the gas pedal (or when you let go of the W key) and slowly gets softer as the car comes to a stop.
Realistically, a normal car shouldn’t be making so much noise when you are coasting along the highway without stepping on the gas pedal (or W key). A realistic manual car should be almost silent when freewheeling or coasting and a realistic automatic car produces a much much much softer sound compared to accelerating. In an automatic car, lifting the gas pedal while still moving induces engine braking, it involves closing the throttle and using the engine’s compression to slow down the vehicle, resulting in a lower and distinct sound compared to the roaring sound during acceleration.
OHHHHH…Yeah,i questioned that before aswell !At the same time though, its funny to hear a stock miata accelerate in the mountain hill faster than its own acceleration screaming at top of its lungs.
But yeah,you are right
