this is such a cool car
Q: What is this car exactly?
A: This is a 1988 Callaway Twin Turbo Corvette, aka the Callaway Sledgehammer. What would you imagine about supercars made in the 80’s. A Ferrari F40? A Porsche 959? A Lamborghini Countach? For me, It’s this car as it held the world’s fastest street legal car with a top speed of 254.7 mph. It’s literally faster than a Bugatti Veyron topping out at 253 MPH and it’s Roadster variant (The 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse) at 254.04 MPH. That’s essentially a 0.3 MPH difference to a car that was heavily tuned in the 1980’s. In 2010 The Bugatti Veyron Super Sport Finally Beated it reaching 267 MPH. Keep in mind that the veyron project costed a billion dollars while this corvette costs 500,000 - 600,000 USD meanwhile a Veyron Costed around 1 Million USD but the production costed around £5 million euros.
One of my favorite cars of all time, right beside the Lotec C1000.
