so you have had that feeling before when you had your kill stolen by some random 3rd party kid
well I think that an assist system should be added, and here’s how it will work:
the assist will be determined by who knocked out the vehicle and whoever dealt the most damage
the person that was originally going after a specific person for a KO (and by extension, probably the person that deals the most damage) will get the KO as normal, with the normal 50 points awarded
the person going in for the assist will be given an assist, which will award an assist instead of a KO, but only 25 points will be given from the assist
more than 2 people can be involved, anybody can deal damage to a car, but the damage dealt must be above 5% of the vehicle’s total HP pool to avoid incidents where people tap a car and run off to get an assist
respawn or RPG combat logging will result in a 20-30 second no spawn penalty (respawns will result in a vehicle delete), and will grant a KO and assist to whoever was involved with the combat logger
this would help to make derby far less irritating to play, as KOs are extremely valuable to ensure a derby win, and having 50 points getting stolen by some random kid is extremely annoying
I don’t have much else to add, I want to keep this as simple as possible, add some ideas if you want
I, and many others, probably find it very annoying when you’re on the brink of knocking somebody out in Derby and either of 3 things happen:
You get the KO
They respawn and you don’t.
Somebody comes in last second and steals it.
I don’t see why you shouldn’t get an assist if you do damage to somebody and somebody else does major damage and if you do major damage you should get an ACaKO (Assist Count as Knockout) if somebody attempts to steal it.
Proposed score values for these are below:
Assist: 25 score
ACaKO: 40 score
Respawn KO: 50 score (since you deserve the kill anyway, if you respawn when you’re about to die you’re just sad.)
