#61 R&D Sport 2012-2020 Subaru BRZ GT300 Super GT

cr-z gt300 beware

so yeah, this was the very first car of the “Mother Chasssis”(MC) GT300 cars, basically distancing GT300 away from individual chassis to a uniform sihouette racing chassis with different shells (looking at you nascar)
This was obviously controversial as this basically eliminated any differences apart from aerodynamics, so Super GT still let people enter tuned GT3 cars, but the BRZ/GT86 GT300 MC was the first one of its kind
Unfortunately, the BRZ didn’t do well in its debut year, suffering reliability issues some subarus are red, some subuarus are blue, but that dont matter cause their head gasket blew but showing promise in mid-speed cornering, giving it the nickname “Curve Boss”
In 2013, the BRZ GT300 showed even more promise, taking 5 pole positions and even winning a race at suzuka, but ultimately lost out on the championship by over 30 points to the Mugen CR-Z
Unfortunately this was the last of the success they would get, as over the next 7 years they would slowly get sent to the bottom of the championship standings, finishing 18th in the standings at the end of 2019 and 5th at the end of 2020
The silver lining to this whole story is that the next year in 2021, when they made a brand new chassis to base off the new BRZ, that took the championship home
