NAME: Lamborghini Murciélago R-GT
PICTURES:
(interior image pulled from a different chassis, unsure if it may be inaccurate)
this car was only the second race car that Lamborghini made (the first of which was the Diablo), but this time Lamborghini would team up with Reiter Engineering to make a fully fleshed out race car worthy of fighting in the GT1 class
the Japanese Lamborghini Owners Club (or JLOC for short) would be the first recipient of this car, and they would attempt to race in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, unfortunately with reliability issues, the car would not be able to finish much
this chassis in specific did achieve some success, giving Lamborghini its first motorsport win ever, but outside of that, practically all the Murci R-GTs wouldn’t see a spotlight on the podium, and the car would be bombarded with issues and disappointing results
this car is an interesting dive into Lamborghini’s motorsport attempts, while not successful, it is a very cool car that had lots of potential that just couldn’t be fully utilized
