Sold officially through Rover dealers, but wasn’t a Rover product.
It’s an original Mini with a MG Metro Turbo underpinnings implanted, designed by Engineering Research & Application Ltd. as a tribute to the fast Minis of the 60s such as the Cooper and the 1275GT, made from 1989 till 1991.
With things such as VDO instruments, comfier seats and Connolly leather trimmage on the inside it was quite like a Bentley (which, coincidentally, also majorly used turbocharged engines at the time) of the Mini world, and on the outside there was an aero kit by former Marcos designer Dennis Adams as well as some stylish 13" alloys.
93hp from its 1.3 turbo A-Series engine might not be too much, but a 737kg curb weight means great acceleration and power-to-weight ratio (121hp per tonne). The Mort Turbo Mini would be featured as a D class car because of that, with excellent handling but hindered by its low 185kmh top speed. It has a ~100k pricetag but isn’t unlockable with cash - with the Turbo Mini being a variant of the Mort Mini it can only be unlocked through the Mastery challenges of the latter.
