1989 Chevrolet California Camaro IROC-Z Concept

essentially a preview to the catfish, though way more radical
minimalist exterior styling + butterfly doors on the outside, while on the inside there was the driver seat in the middle and a built-in interior vacuum cleaner (!!!)
nothing was listed about the performance, but the prototype had a DOHC V6, and, considering GM was planning to switch the Camaro/Firebird twins to a FWD platform (same thing that Ford almost did with the Mustang), the production version could’ve been similar to the Mitsubishi 3kGT/Dodge Stealth in terms of layout - a transverse V6 with front, or optional all wheel drive.
a FWD platform wouldn’t have meant the end of the world by the way, if someone really wanted the VEE ATE MOWDUR I believe it wouldn’t be too difficult to just stuff a Northstar in there.
oh and it also exists in Micro Machines form.
