Additional Facts:
- Both the 1985 G1 and the 1986 WM 745i SA race cars were driven by Tony Viana; he would go on to win both the 1985 and 1986 South African Touring Car Championships in Group 1 and the Wesbank Modified, respectively
- The WM 745i SA race car was restored in 2006 by Evolution 2 Motorsport company; today, the WM 745i SA race car now includes an oil painting collage, by Sam Nhlengethwa, of scenes of Old Johannesburg at the rear section of the car (basically adding more historical value to this car)
- The WM 745i SA race car features a special aerodynamic body kit, including a rear spoiler, and exhibited a lowered ground clearance and special racing tires with narrow profile
Personal Note/Rant:
- It proved itself to be a true legend in BMW M’s rich history.
- Crazy that BMW ZA actually did two racing versions of the already mechanically and historically significant 745i SA.
- Yes, this is my second 745i SA suggestion, and this is my favourite one (so far) to research about!
don’t post if there’s already a vehicle suggestion for this
