The 1968 Shelby GT500KR Mustang was one of the best Mustang out there for the time. It was the fastest and most luxurious Mustang produced out of all the Mustang. Most collectors will say this is most likely one of the best car that was produced. The “KR” in the name means “King of the Road”. The GT500KR of this body we’re exclusively produced in 1968 which makes them rarer than regular Mustang. The 1st Generation of this only produced 1452 of this model in 1968. The average price nowadays for one of these car is sitting around 192K to 195K USD. Most expensive being sold at around 324.5K USD on Jan 29 2022.
Engine
It’s engine consisted of a 7.0L Cobra Jet V8 producing almost 400 gross horsepower, however, due to insurance purpose, it only had around 335 horsepower which made the model have around 25 less horsepower than it’s 360 horsepower 1968 GT500 counter part with a stronger engine at that moment.

It’s was originally a variant of the 1968 GT500 meant to be a more luxurious car for the time. It never had any predecessor neither a successor in it’s lifetime.
