NAME: 1962 Porsche 718 GTR Coupe
A car that is no stranger to this part of the forums, the 718 Cayman is a sports car made to go side-by-side with the 911 and its many specs. But what many don’t know is that the model made its debut back in the late 50s as a race car. Because a majority of the 718’s modern versions have been suggested before (totally not due to originality issues), I’ve decided to bring one of the lesser known variants to the spotlight, the 718 GTR.
The GTR was made with endurance racing in mind, and even tho very little is known of its history, it managed to secure 2 podiums, one of which was a 1st place. The car featured body lines reminiscent of the famous Ferrari Breadvan, with the typical Porsche flare, and its ultimate engine was a 210 hp flat 8.
The base model/open top can be found here: 1959 Porsche 718 RSK Spyder

Because even the base spec of the car was race-built, the interior didnt change almost at all between the cars
