Welcome to my lore stuff or whatever. I’d like to show off a little bit of what i have been research and finding out. Here are the possible locations for the CC2 Island.
These locations were picked for a few reasons listed below:
Climate: CC2 island happens to have a year-round tropical temperature, with seasonal winters and summers. This has eliminated polar, equatorial and tropical zones.
Sun location: While the Island has constant daylight (except for the rare cloudy skies), the rare chance for the time to be changed helps a lot. Assuming that Row 1 is the north side of the compass, we can also assume that means that the sun rises closer to the east.
Greenery: The plants on the main island are all palm trees, and the new update introduces palm trees as well. These plants do better in the locations picked.
Earths Curvature: With no visable islands in the distance, i calculated the how far you would have to be for a 2000 Meter tall object to disappear over the horizon. If the island has an average height of 15 meters, the vanishing point for our large object is anything above 175 Kilometers.
Ring of Fire: The ring of fire is a platonically active ring that borders the east coast of Asia and ends at the west coast of the Americas. Only two of the locations listed are on or along this ring, however that doesn’t mean that the volcano is located somewhere else.
Core Fallout: Assuming that the facility was built to explode means that the island can’t be close to any land without consequence. From the estimated size of the explosion, the dimensions fit that of the “Little Boy” atomic bomb. This would mean that in a strong wind it could carry a little over 200 Kilometers, further proving that it isn’t close to land. This number could possibly be bigger but because the core doesn’t make any visible smoke we don’t have to worry about this number.
Transport distance: The cars must come from somewhere and the distance can’t be too far either. If we were to use the C-5M Galaxy as our plane, it can fly about 900 Kilometers with a load. If the Airport map for derby is a checkpoint for these planes, then we now have a max distance of about 1800 Kilometers out in sea.
Our first location, and most likely, is located near Japan.
Our Second Location is near New Zealand.
Our Third and least likely is up north off the east coast of North America.
Our Fourth is located closer to the Arctic circle.
Here are a few unlisted spots that can be possible too:
- Hawaii (20°N, 155°W)
- Reunion Island (21°S, 55°E)
- Galápagos Islands (0°N, 90°W)
- Iceland (64°N, 20°W)
- Easter Island (27°S, 109°W)
Purpose of the Crushing Facility.
A small but short explanation for the Island. Using a bit of evidence it is likely a Car testing and demolition facility. Cars are provided by many companies, governments and cities. Cars that are sent here are tested either for durability or to be destroyed. Money is given to the people who crush these cars, who would be us, the players. The facility in general is privatly owned.
In-game reasons for this:
-Multiple cars, trucks and vehicles are available in game
-Some of these cars are extremely expensive
-Most cars are cheap and are here to destroy these cars instead of junk yards.
-Government Vehicles like the ICBM Carrier and tanks (Abrams and all that), are tested here for durability and possibly ability.
-The crushers have many ways of crushing. The nature type crushers are there to test out how well vehicles would do surviving natural events. These include: The Tornado, The Volcano pit, The tsunami, The Boulder Drop, The Nature pit, The Nature Cliff (I think that’s the name), The Blackhole (yes this is natural), The Microwave (Lightning), The Melting Chamber (Heat), The Freezer (Cold), and a few others i forgot the names of,
-Other crushers are meant to test weapons against vehicles. These seem to be made either by Exophonic Corp (Shown in derby and creator of the rip_luffy tank) or any Government. This includes: The super blast, The nuclear bomb, The highway crash test (New material?), and others.
Small note: I’ll be added more Lore and all that here soon, such as why the facility exist and what its purpose could be.
