Answer: sometimes when competing in a live competition a weaker attempt compared to your competition record can overwrite ot on the competition so you lose

this happens way too often ngl
besides racing (and the cars, but that’s not really a gameplay feature), my favorite part of playing cc2 is the missions and competitions, but i’ve found myself having to ‘stop’ myself during a live competition—the stunt ones, specifically— once i get a score im okay with because i’m at risk of overriding it if i drive over a hill too fast and gain some air or decide to turn my car and accidentally lose enough traction.
