Regarding the difficulty of the new Apex Trials Series

(Not sure if this should be under Discussion or Suggestions or even Bugs, but whatever.)

With the new Apex Trials Series being released in the most recent update, I have noticed a few things that make it a bit… annoying.

As with most of the recent events, the objectives now have difficulty bonuses, with medium (10 style points) being the standard difficulty, and you can choose to make the race bosses easier or harder.
However, the hard difficulty does seem a little overscaled.
Because the boss times are shortened, not only do players need to sharpen their driving skills, but also choose vehicles that can put up a fight.
However, sometimes there actually may not be a good enough car for specific race.

In the Muscle Power Clash race, you are pitted against a Forter Musterang GTC (aka the Ford Mustang GTD Prototype), and you are severely limited to three mid-tier muscle cars (four, if you have the VIP gamepass, although the Mustang GT may not be able to do much)
In medium difficulty, the race can be very challenging.
But in hard? It’s almost impossible to win.

I myself have the exclusive Forter Musterang Sibley GT (Ford Shelby GT500), which is significantly better than the three free options that F2P players would be stuck with.
But even so, it is almost COMPLETELY impossible to beat the hard boss’s 3 minutes and 6 seconds time.
Even after many attempts and rewinds, I have only been able to barely beat the MEDIUM time.

I think this is partly because of the fact that muscle cars are more on speed than handling, yet we have to race on a twisty track with an AI that can obviously turn with ease.
I am not sure if the difficulty scaling is actually unbalanced and unfair, or if I need a specific Limited vehicle to beat that time, or if I am really just bad at racing, but as someone who likes a challenge, this particular race has started to feel really annoying.

Another example is the Foodfight Rally (which I haven’t done yet), where apparently the only available vehicles are VIP vehicles, meaning that F2P players or players without the VIP gamepass, are essentially softlocked from the series.

Not sure as to whether this is intentional or not, but if it is, then that means that players without Robux are unable to continue past this paywall.

I understand that some of these… ‘quirks’ don’t matter that much, given that this is a permanent mission series and will probably remain forever (or until Panwellz removes it), giving players plenty of time to maybe get a better muscle car (if one even exists) or consider investing Robux into the game.
And I can’t be that harsh, especially since it hasn’t even been a day since the update has come out (at the time of writing this)
I personally think that this is a really good mission series for endgame players to tackle on.

But maybe something could be done to address these annoyances?

It takes a LOT of rewinds and a maxxed out Dadget Competitor STR Hellhound, but Muscle Power Clash is beatable on hard (albeit, it’s the hardest out of all the races in my opinion).

yeah the difficulty of the races AND exclusivity of the vehicles is genuinely a bit concerning

i dont of think myself to be the most skilled racer, and i will admit that i have put more time into limiteds (and maxxing vehicles) than most, but genuinely, the hard difficulty races just had me wishing i could somehow use a TAS or something

it feels additionally unfair when the car you’re racing against is just objectively better than the options available

honestly, even being a person with every single limited up to this point, the difficulty of some of these races is unreasonable

for the muscle car race, I had to pull out the old GT500 race car to even get a good time without having to optimize everything to an insane degree, and if I didn’t have a large margin of time to beat the hard difficulty, I can’t imagine what a F2P player has to deal with

also, being locked out of some of these races simply because you don’t have the required car is very poor game design, and it’s something that needs to be addressed beyond just a skip button

You already know what I’m going to say…

thankfully the devs came to their senses and added a skip button
